This morning many Harry Potter fans woke to reports that Warner Bros. had announced a release date of November 21, 2008 for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.
You may remember that in March David Heyman mentioned that Half-Blood Prince was set for 2008.
Numerous sites are reporting the release date:
posted a list of movie release dates, pointing out that Warner Bros. had Harry Potter and
the Order of the Phoenix and Ocean's Thirteen as its two major summer releases for 2007. The sixth movie, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, will be released on November 21st.Please note that no information about the movie, director or actors has been announced. We will update with any news we receive from Warner Bros. in reference to this date. Thanks to everyone who emailed.

Aaah back to the winter release dates like when LOTR was still on :) Well i hope its out in 2008, only a year after OOTP, but i would have thought it would be a bit early to predict when it would be out cinsidering they havent even finished this one yet.

This is great news! I know there's been a lot of talk about the actors possibly changing because of their age, but I have to admit, I don't care if they're "too old". I'd prefer to see the same actors playing the characters than bringing in others just because they're a little younger. It just wouldn't be the same without the normal crew!

It's odd that they already have a release date while the filming of Ootp is still in progress. I hope sooner does not mean slapdash work for trade's sake. Incidentally they have not so far released an name for a director. Now of course i'd be quite glad if it came only a year after OotP.

Do you think that they might be filming part of HBP when they go on location, so they don't have to go there again??? Can they even do that?? It might be why it's relesase date has come out early!!! Last year we didn't know when OOTP was coming out did we??

Whoa. They can really plan ahead. They are still filming the fifth and already know when the sixth should be ready. They must really be pushing some overtime over there. I guess they're trying to get them all done before one of the actors wants out, or before the audience loses intrest.

Becuase it would be horiable if they were not. However, I don't think that is going to happen because hasn't it already been anncouned that they were going to be in six? I hope so because I can't see the films the same without them.

They will no sooner finish filming on and start filming another. Rather "Lord of the Rings" like. But you'll have that when children and young adults are your stars and they grow up after all.
Too years tow movies....maybe then if book 7 is released they can film it by 2009 or 2010? Awesome news.
