In May we reported
that the Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire DVD held the Guinness World Record for being the fastest selling DVD of all time.
A recent article from their publication on the feat has an interview with Dan who talks about the best part of being in the movies and when asked what he thought about the world record said:
It's amazing. I'm so grateful to everyone for buying it. All I can say is a great big thank you. It's wonderful!

I wonder where all the movies rank??? I bet if they had a list of the top selling DVDs all of the HP movies would be on it somewhere. If Dan is grateful, do you think he gets some royalties from the DVDs??

Of course it was the fastest selling DVD of all time. Its the MAGIC of Harry Potter and the spell it has cast over generations of readers of both OLD and YOUNG (whether new or experienced) It has something for everyone. Naturally the movies would reflect the diversity as well.

Wow, there really is a Guinness World Record for everything. I shouldn't be surprised. I remember reading one when I was younger for the worlds longest finger nails.

He has to be proud. It bodes well for the next films and assures his financial future so that he can do whatever he wants after the series is completed.

Its amazing that DVD sales went in the World Record book, of all places for Harry Potter to be in, I never thought it would get something like that. Anyways, the last book will guaranteed make the world record book for most books bought.

Hmm, not really interesting, records of that sort don't always stand long. The next Harry Potter movie may very well break it. Then again, the next box office smash could break it, too, there's no way to know.

I doubt this will be the last of the records HP gets, but congrats to it all the same. I had no idea it held that record! Hopefully the next three movies will do just as good a job, if not better!

The guiness world book of records is pretty lousy...half the stuff in their is false. Also HP GoF dvd sold an outstanding 5 million copies on it's first day...but i'm pretty sure Finding Nemo sold about 9 million...and then a total of 18 million. So it's one of the fastest selling dvd's, but i don't think it's the FASTEST! Another false artical in the guiness books...
