In a new interview from the set of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Emma Watson mentions
that she is unsure if she will commit to the remaining films saying: "I don't know yet. Every film is such a huge production, and it's a long time."
She also discusses filming Phoenix, her co-stars, flying and boys.
Do you think you want to be an actress for the rest of your career?
Emma: I don't know. Daniel and Rupert seem so sure. I don't know. I wouldn't want Harry Potter to be the last thing I do. Nothing is ever going to be quite on the scale of this. I appreciate that. And also I've come into acting in such a funny way. Most people who want to act have to sit through hours of auditioning and work their way up, whereas I seemed to have come straight in at the top, having had no experience at all. That's quite a strange position to be in, but amazing at the same time because it has given me so many options and choices. I definitely would like to do other films to see what it's like. I'd really like to try some theater, actually, because I think I would really enjoy that immediate response from an audience. I love making people laugh. I love to perform, but there are so many things I love doing. [Pause] Maybe that seems ungrateful. I have been given such an amazing opportunity, but I'll just have to go with the flow and see what happens.

As if Emma Watson wouldn't sign on! At the end of the day Warner Brothers will throw so much money at her that she couldn't not do it really. This would all be a tactic to get more cash, I guarantee it!
As much as I tend to question her acting abilities, she really has made Hermione her own and it would be disappointing to see anyone else take the role.

well she'll stay on for the next two, otehrwise the whole of teh world will eb mad at her. And there's so much in it for her - money, and of course she'll gte a million more offers for new stuff if she sticks with it. Especially if Dan and Rupert stay on...she'll do it.
Asd for further acting...well even if she gets a different job after uni or whatever she'll always be able to get back into acting if she wants to.

It would not be the same and thats what i love about HP movies, they always have the same people in them!! Different director, same actors!

I hope she does carry on acting! But she should do whatever she wants - there's no point doing something you're unhappy with, especially something so based around media and your image. Now she knows what it's like being in a huge production, she has had enough experience to say she doesn't want to do it any more.

Probably just holding out for more money and attention but I think she has a fair point. She's only 16 and have to make these big life decisions and even people at 30 find this stressful. Harry Potter takes forever to make and take up most of her young life. However, she's not leaving. I'm sure it's all talk.

Oh, I really but really want emma to stay and do at least the two last movies. She acts her role so perfectly. She made hermione alive, she just has to stand. if she doesn't finish the last two movies, everybody is going to be disappointed. it isn't going to be the same. if emma wants to do something else than acting, ok, but i thing that acting is what she is really really good at (I'm sure she's good at plently of other things too, but she's a great actress). Please stay!

Emma is Hermione. That's it - from being in five films, she's made the role her own. I, with countless others, will be extremely disappointed if she does not continue with films six and seven. The movies won't be the same, and I can't imagine how they would do in the box office - still well, but it would be a completely different vibe.
