While promoting his latest movie Driving Lessons in Los Angeles, Rupert Grint mentions briefly the atmosphere with the new director David Yates, filming Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and his ideas where his character Ron will go.
Rupert also discusses rumours about Chris Columbus and Alfonso Cuarón’s participation in the sixth and seventh films.

Unlike most people, I didn't find the Columbus-directed movies all that bad. However, I do agree that Cuaron did a much better job with adapting the story and handling the camera direction. I can't remember if David Yates directed GoF.

They should definately get Alfonso back to do the last two movies. He would be so brilliant and you would just know that they would be great on screen.
And of course Ron and Hermione are going to get together...if not, they'll at least express how they feel about each other. Great video.

Hm, interesting. I guess Rupert can't really say how David Yates is compared to the other directors until he sees the final product. I'm glad he had that other acting experience so after Harry Potter he still has an acting career.

I Loved Chris Columbus' films, and greatly disliked PoA and the way that Cuaron did it. I would love to see Mike Newell come back. I think he did a superb job of making the movie more mature and dark, while still keeping the good magical feeling and contrast between dark, scary moments and the exciting and happy ones (For example, the Graveyard scene and the Yule Ball). To me PoA just didn't have enough contrast. It was hard to know when you were supposed to be scared because all of the scenes had the same drab and dull lighting and cinematography. I also really disliked the costumes in PoA. But what bothered me most of all was the drastic change in the plot from the book. I loved the first two, and think that they were perfect for the books and Harry's age, because they seem more cheerful, magical, and innocent. However, in later books, they do need it to be more dark. That's why I want Mike Newell, because he could encorporate both aspects.

I hope a transcript appears soon. As for me, I wouldn't mind Cauron coming back for 6 or 7, but not Columbus! I thought they were offering 6 to Yates again, though?
I am just glad that RUpert is doing the last 2.

That interview was good, i am glad we will get to see more of the Weasley's and that means Grimauld Place and St. Mungos at Christmas too.
I hope that Alfonso Cuarón comes back, since PoA was the best movie so far.

It's funny because it seems like Rupert went through a period of timidness or something, or he's just getting more attention now so he has more opportunity to talk. I don't know. But it's cool to see him get the attention because it seems like its always been Dan and Emma in the spotlight.

Chris Columbus and Alfonso Cuarón both did a really good job with their movies, but I'm not sure if I would want either of them to direct the last 2. I think that it is a good idea to keep changing the directors because Dan and Emma are so if-fy at this point about coming back each time and coming back only if they feel like they are still being challenged with their acting. I really don't care who directs it as long as Dan and Emma come back.
I wish they would put a transcript of the interview up because my internet is way to slow to watch videos like this.

"Cool" interview! Like the more confidence and maturity.
About the directors for the last two movies, I've got to say, all three directors are great (in there own way of coarse). My personal favorite was PofA. It's just a better 'movie'. But I haven't read the books. Someone who has will be picky and probably want it to be like the books. It would be nice if Cuarón came back, but only because I know how his work is and it would be safe. Although having another take at it would be great, too.
