I was not offended, just a little frustrated people didn't take in the fact this is in Melbourne Australia, so obviously Channel Nine is Australian and it will most likely not be shown outside Australia.

I think that alpha_mushi & kat_snowyowl are right. I'm actually quite annoyed that some people could be so naive in thinking that the AUSTRALIAN Film Industry awards would be shown around the world, just because Daniel is going. Channel 9 shows the awards every year, and it doesn't always get the publicity it deserves.
I'm sure that if you REALLY want to see Dan, you'll just have to wait for pictures to turn up on the internet.
(And I'm not trying to disrespect anyone here so please don't make negative replys to those who are trying to get the facts straight.)

Oh Dan's off to the AFI's??? Hmm, that could be another extra incentive to visit friends in Melbourne (I live 4 hours west of Sydney) in December! hehe well at least I may go out of my way to watch the showing on channel 9 (the Australian channel 9).
Oh and I understand about the other Aussie's getting a bit frustrated by other members mistaking it, but just relax, it isn't the first time misreading/assumptions happens and I doubt it will be the last. Best way is to be polite, correct the misunderstanding and not let it faze you. Honestly, I used to be bothered by it and snap (especially when Aussie HP news is very rare) but now I couldn't be bothered (true Aussie style).
For everyone else that's not an Aussie don't hold it against kat_snowyowl, she means well. Anyhow, I'm sure the clips of the event will be shown on the net ASAP after the AFI's.
On a random note, I wonder if Dan will be spending Christmas in Australia this year... I mean it wouldn't be the first time and you know his parent's do have that house in Melbourne...
