Update: Promotional images of Daniel Radcliffe from 'Equus'

New promotional images featuring Harry Potter actor Dan Radcliffe in his upcoming West End production of Equus are now available for fans.
Producer David Pugh says of Dan:
There was no hesitancy about taking off his clothes.
He has a confidence in his own appearance. With the performances that I've witnessed, when that boy takes his shirt off, Harry Potter has flown out of Hogwarts for good.
Equus, also starring fellow Potter actor Richard Griffiths, begins previews on February 16 and the official opening night is planned for February 27.
Please note that these photos contain quite a bit of bare skin, which has caused a fair bit of concern

And if dan / harry does do the movie.. despite negative reasons then.. well what else can i say.. i cant do anything to stop him. its his reputation but i wish he wouldnt do this.. anyways..d an if you do this play then best of luck with it!

He is just an actor. Everyone has been sending these picks to me and i tell them so what. He just happens to play harry in the movies. I love and will always love the books and can do without the movies, since they don't do the books justice anyway. then again what movie does any book justice.

There are more than a few people posting on this subject who have no idea what they are even talking about. If you're going to be all high-and-mighty, holier-than-thou, and so bloody righteous, may I suggest you try actually reading EQUUS first?! There are a lot of you who have embarrassed yourselves (although I'm sure you are oblivious and couldn't care less). I completely respect those who have read it and don't like it. At least you've taken the time to read it and aren't basing your opinions on twisted assumptions. I am appalled at how many people are judging both the play and Daniel without having a clue as to what the play is about. And I must say, I am still trying to decide which attitude makes me sicker: those who make outrageous judgments based on ignorance of the play, or those Dan Radcliffe "fans" who also don't know the play and can only see these photos as "hot". He's not supposed to be "hot", he's supposed to be reflecting the character's intense pain and confusion--something he was very successful at, by the way. And when did portraying the "Alan Strang" character become a beauty contest? He's not supposed to be some buff Chippendale! The actor portraying "Alan" needs to be somewhat slim, as he does ride on the back of another actor symbolizing a horse (it's not literal). As for age, what makes a young person "adult" is their level of mental and emotional maturity. Dan is obviously mature enough to handle such a serious role; too bad the majority of the people posting here aren't. The character is 17, and must be portrayed by an actor roughly the same age, or the impact is lost. My friend was also 17 when he played "Alan" and his mother was the director! It's obvious who the truly mature people are. If you seriously support Dan, support his courage to tackle this difficult role (it's the the level of emotional anguish required that makes the character so challenging, not the nudity). And for those of you whose delicate sensibilites are so injured by this, quit obsessing and move on to another topic if it bothers you so much. If people here choose not to grow up that's your choice, but don't force your immature and puritanical insecurities on Daniel or those of us who are able to appreciate something more adult than Harry Potter.

We presented it here (Boulder, CO) in 1980, and we did not need a permit. Yes, there is always controversy whenever EQUUS is presented, but the only outrage I've ever encountered has been within the Harry Potter fandom.

Some of you say why doesn't he try to shake off his Harry Potter image after the movie series is over, but by then it will be too late he will have that image already. Although i do beleive that he will still have that image no matter what. It is too big of a role to just shake off.
