Due to the recent press coverage of Daniel Radcliffe
's controversial play Equus, the possibility of Warner Bros. firing the actor have triggered the rumor mill. However, the company responsible for the Harry Potter movies have issued an official press release fully supporting Daniel's choice of appearing in the play.
Daniel Radcliffe is an extremely talented actor, as well as a great collaborator and friend to Warner Bros. Pictures. We've had great experiences working with him on our films and fully support him in the artistic choices he makes as an actor.

I can see the logic behind the rumor but I think even the WB can see what a mistake it would be to fire the actor for the main character when they are so beloved and when you are so far into the series. Really it did not take WB shooting it down to know that it was only a rumor.

Well, good grief - I would certainly hope they wouldn't fire him for such a thing! I mean, I may not be a great fan of the whole Equus idea, but that certainly wouldn't be sufficient reason to FIRE Dan! That's absolutely ludicrous - who believes this stuff and starts spreading it anyway?

Ahhh, dont scare me like that!!!!! It would be a bad choice if they fired him anyway, since he IS Harry Potter, and many people dont see anybody else playing the role.

I have to say that I might understand if there were any thoughts of firing Dan (Kid movies and now the main actor is appearing naked. I think Disney did something like that to Anne Hathaway and the Princess Diaries after she appeared in Brokeback Mountain.), but they would be stupid to go through with it since he is basically Harry Potter to everyone in the world. There would be a revolt from Harry Potter fans.

Good! I'm glad they squashed that rumor. My mom was watching the news, and the story came up about how he might lose his job. I knew they would never do that. It's his choice as to what jobs he takes, and being in Equus is making his skill grow. They would be idiots to fire him.

I heard this rumor a few days ago, and I didn't beieve it for a second. Why would they fire Dan just because he's doing a professional play that involves 10 full minutes of nudity? Dan is perfect as Harry Potter, firing him would be a big mistake for WB. I wonder who started the rumor?
