Due to the recent press coverage of Daniel Radcliffe
's controversial play Equus, the possibility of Warner Bros. firing the actor have triggered the rumor mill. However, the company responsible for the Harry Potter movies have issued an official press release fully supporting Daniel's choice of appearing in the play.
Daniel Radcliffe is an extremely talented actor, as well as a great collaborator and friend to Warner Bros. Pictures. We've had great experiences working with him on our films and fully support him in the artistic choices he makes as an actor.

Thank God they didn't fire him! It would be completely stupid. He didn't do anything wrong. The nudity in that play is completely artistic. Gary Oldman did some nude scenes even before Harry Potter started, but they still casted him, so it wouldn't make any sense to have fired Dan. People are just so uptight sometimes. It's not like he's doing anything sleazy. I hope people get over it! And hope the play does well for Dan!

Like I would have thought WB would dump Dan because he is being successful in the play he is acting in currently? Duh...look at the free publicity they are getting before the next movie is even released! WB would be crazy to dump him now! Besides who could replace him as Harry? No one! Even though there are millions of look alikes out there. No one could replace him!

I thought Equus was done in good taste, and Dan is demonstraiting his maturity as an actor.
If anything I thought the skit Dan did for Extres, was in bad taste, He was dressed like Harry Potter in a scout uniform.

There would be nothing to the Harry Potter movies if Can wasn't the one to play Harry's role anymore. Changing actors for the part this late in the serious, or at all for that matter, would be a stupid idea and would lose a lot of money over it.

Honestly this is a ridiculous rumor, and people really need to grow up and get on with their lives and not worry so much about what other people are doing. Dan is an adult, and it old enough to make his own choices, and if he wants to do this play, why not let him expand his acting wings? It really is not anyones business what Dan does, and if they don't like the fact that he's in the play, no one is forcing them to go see the play, so what's the big deal?

I didn't believe for a second that WB had any issues with Dan taking this role. He's proving (again) that he is a fine actor and WB knows how lucky they are to have "locked him in" as Harry at such an early age. And now that the good reviews are coming in for Dan in Equus, it's just free publicity for OotP, really. And, WAY TO GO, DAN!
