According to a report
on an Irish web site, scouts from Warner Bros. have recently visited Ireland viewing possible locations to film Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince.
The report states that Warner Bros. are interested in finding new locations because they have now exhausted possible locations in Britain.
Of course, as always, please treat this as a rumor until confirmed and we will update accordingly.

Ireland is very pretty. I hope they do film there. Have you noticed the Scottish locations always work better than the English ones? I bet it'll be like that for Ireland.

I don't believe this is going to be true. First, they said they were going to film Order of the Phoenix in either China or New Zeland(because of the money and landscape), and we all know that wasn't true. Now they're saying they're going to film in Ireland. If it is true, that would really be cool. Its only a country away, it would be cool if they traveled to Ireland(I love the landscape of Ireland, its so beautiful)

Ireland doesn't sound like a bad place to film it. By now they've probly been all over Britain by looks of it. ahah good luck to them.

Hmmm... I wouldn't actually mind it being filmed in Ireland, unless everything there loks completely different.

That would be cool. Ireland is really pretty. A lot of scenes would probably be better, or more believable, if they were filmed in Ireland... especially the cave.

Ireland??? Why cant they just keep filming in the UK??? They have exhausted possible locations?? But Harry Potter is from the UK and if they keep filming in the same places it will look uniform and it will look better!

That would be great. Some of the cliff areas would do very well for the scenes with Dumbledore and when they go to the lake in the last few scenes. Time will tell.

I think thats a great idea! Ireland is one of the most beautiful countries in the world and that would make the movie visually stunning! I've always wanted to go there (because that is my heritage) but i'm broke! :)

You know, what I hope is that they'll do the regular Hogwarts scenes in the UK, but they'll do all the flashbacks and, hopefully, the cave scene in Ireland. Because where Voldemort started out seems a bit more foreign.

Wow, that would be so cool!!! Ireland has gorgeous scenery!! As do England and Scotland, but still, Ireland would be amazing!!! Of course, they said OotP was considered to be filmed in Czech, but that never happened. I think Ireland could be a possibility, because it's geographically close. I really hope they do some of it there!!!

Ireland is a beautiful place to film the movie but I'd prefer they stayed in the UK. But it doesn't matter because where ever the director chooses I'm sure it's going to be a wonderful place.

I don't have a problem with that as long as Ireland has some decent views.....we can't have HBP looking bad but I'm sure they woulden't do that!!

Why don't they take a leaf out of Peter Jackson's book and film HBP in New Zealand? Breathtaking mountains, quite countryside, cheap filming rates.... although Ireland is breathtaking as well. It's just a bit strange when they said they have "exhausted" all likely places in Britain.... hmmmm.... I thought there's tonnes of places around Scotland they could have chosen - how about Isle of Skye? Now THAT'S a pretty place....
