Just a few hours ago we posted some new images from the Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix movie, which will appear in Entertainment Weekly
on Friday.
The issue
features three different covers with Harry, Hermione and Ron, all the information you need to know about the movie, quotes from Daniel Radcliffe and director David Yates and a quiz to test your Harry Potter knowledge.
One article mentions that Mr. Yates has been tapped to direct Half-Blood Prince, although nothing has been finalized yet and that the producers state that the movie will be two and a half hours, the shortest in the series to date.
Or you can start reading the articles here
and here
for the list of characters, all on the EW site.
Thanks to Tammara via DR.co.uk
for the scans.

You have got to be kidding me, OOTP is only 2 and 1/2 hours long! It is a pivotal book and they are only making it 2 and 1/2 hours! Oh my now I may not be as excited as I thought about this movie. They must really butcher this book in order for it to be only 2 and 1/2 hours long!
I was going to comment on Umbridge and Malfoy and how happy I am that Rupert gets his own cover but now I am just disaapointed. I thought Yates really got how important this book was, but obviously not. ::SIGH:: Maybe he is brilliant and I am wrong he was able to get it all in with the short time, but I seriously doubt it.

It just doesn't get any better than...however I thought the article made an interesting point "Previous films were released at least four months away from any of the books. Will the pileup stoke readers and moviegoers alike, or leave them feeling overstuffed and Pottered out come August?"
I think I might agree somewhat?!

Great article. Dan's comments were humorous as usual.
I think Yates should do HBP he seems to get the emotions
of the books.

I hope David Yates is directing HBP and hopefully DH because then the tone of the films will be consistent throughout the rest of the film series. Plus, judging by what I've seen so far, he has done the best job directing and I'm sure that OOTP will receive the most praise out of all of the films so far. (it has already received great reviews from "ain't it cool news" and from some of the people who saw the unfinished preview screening).
I don't mind if the film is only 2 and a half hours long. Just as long as it's the best 2 and a half hours out of my summer then I'm happy. And, if they do add more to the final cut of the film, then that's even better because I don't mind if it exceeds 3 hours.
I do admit, I'm a bit disappointed that the Harry and Cho subplot has been cut down quite a lot, but at least the kissing scene between them will be great. Can't wait!! Just over 3 months to go!!
I have to admit, Rupert does look quite hot in the trio pic and the front cover pic. Before, I didn't really have an opinion about Rupert. I thought he was cute in that first pic of him, Dan and Emma from nearly 7 years ago but I always liked Dan best. But now, I like him almost as much as Dan. Them two are the best looking lads out of the films. I glad the two of them and Emma are acting in the last two films. They just get better and better.

Yay! for Ron, getting some well deserved stardom being on a cover!
I thought HBP was the most dull book, so the shortest movie works out, perhaps it will be better on screen. That sounds like heresy, but my faves were GoF and OotF.

Ooh, I'm definitely getting that!!! I think I spent like, at least $60 on GoF magazines last year altogether, so I've got to try not to do that this time... I just won't buy any of those $10 magazines anymore. But I definitely need this one!!!

That is really interesting to read. But I can't believe there isn't going to be any quiddich in the movie. I was really looking foward to that. Plus it's hard to believe that it's going to be the shortest harry potter movie yet, I mean it was the longest book.
