At the beginning of the month we told you of a special airing of American Idol
featuring stars from Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, as well as other well know actors and singers. The show aired last night and tonight, benefiting CPEF but as some of you have pointed out Daniel Radclife did not appear as expected.
We do however have video of Helena and other stars lip-syncing to the Bee Gees "Stayin' Alive."

We will try to update this story as to why Dan did not appear.

Thanks for posting the video! It was nice to watch it again to catch a few more faces I missed when I watched it on TV. I hope that we get an explanation soon for why Dan and a few other people weren't there.

So this is what Dan was suppose to be in? It's kind of disappointing to see that he was not in it. Although it was pretty good and kind of funny to see all of those celebrities lip syncing to Staying Alive.

I saw the video, and it was pretty great!!! I am kind of disappointed that Dan wasn't on, and I even saw a promo for the show listing some of the celebs making appearances, and he was on it. I taped the whole show because I couldn't watch it at the designated time... and sad to say this is only the second episode of Idol I've ever seen (the first being last night when I thought they'd also be having celebrities on). Maybe something came up and they couldn't get the satellite hookup or something, but you'd think they'd at least say something like "We're sorry but Daniel Radcliffe will not be on due to technical difficulties", something to that extent. Oh well, at least Helena was on. And Bono was too, so that's good. And it's for an excellent cause.

Yeah, I thought it was a stretch that Dan would appear here and I did figure he'd either be pre-recorded or via satelite, if he appeared at all. I was sweating out the "Stayin' Alive" bit....hoping he would not appear. It was just...weird. It's great that these stars wanted to lend their names to this worthy cause, but I don't quite get what they were going for with the lip-synching and dancing and all. It kind of scared me!

Interesting how Dan didn't get in there...maybe Lord Voldemort got to him. I watched this, it made me laugh when I saw Helena on it. I was like, "0MG! That's Bellatrix Lestrange." And everyone was like, "That's great." But yeah, I wonder why Dan wasn't in that. I was really looking forward to seeing him. But Hugh Laurie made up for it.
