Last month a Warner Bros. representative reviewed
areas in Scotland for filming locations for the Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, which is set to start filming later this year. The locations featured caves and cliffs which may suit key scenes in the movie.
The main locations that were checked out were:
You may remember that in February we had a report that Warner Bros. had also scouted out areas
in Ireland for possible filming. We will all find out later this year which area won out.

Scotland is so beautiful. I would love to visit it one day - to see Scotland and see the filming of an HP film would be a dream come true. But I guess I'll have to settle just for seeing Scotland one day.

I agree it's very interesting that they're filming in a real cave rather than on a set decorated to resemble a cave. Oh I'd so love to go see it one day. Just imagine, the place were DD took Harry on his first adventure to find a Horcruxe. That is so exciting!

That would be a great place to film. I bet it would be quite tricky sometimes trying to find the perfect location for all the sites in the book.

That sounds perfect! I am really excited for this movie as well as the next. The setting will have to be perfect so I trust that WB will find the "perfect" filming location. Afterall, it's not just the actors that make the movie... location is everything!

It's good their getting a start to where they want to film.
Indeed the cave scene is important near the end of HBP so getting a good, real location is really important.

Both Scotland and Ireland are beautiful places to film Half Blood Prince and its good that they are using 'real' caves to film in, although I suppose it could be tricky.

It is almost surreal that they are already preparing for the sixth film - it seemed like yesterday that they were on the third! Anyways, the places they are researching as potential settings for the climax are incredibly beautiful. I really wish I could travel to them.

This sounds almost too good to believe. Watch when we think the directors have finally done something right the scene with harry and dumbledore going in the cave may end up being in the morning or afternoon instead of the night.
Anyway it sounds like a very good idea
