At the Harry Potter press conference on Saturday, producer David Heyman was tightlipped when responding to a question about whether a certain character was cut from Order of the Phoenix:
"Jo reads each draft," David Heyman had said. "She reads each screenplay, and she said, 'You know, I wouldn't do that if I were you. Or you can, but if you get to make a seventh film, you'll be tied in knots.'" "Which character was it?" the Boston Herald asked. "I thought you might ask that," Heyman teased. "I'm not going to say."
Well, director David Yates has now let slip to MTV"It was Kreacher, actually," director David Yates confirmed to MTV News on Sunday. "We took Kreacher out, and Jo said, 'Listen guys, you don't have to put Kreacher back, but I'm just telling you, if you want to kind of keep a thread going for six and seven, you might want Kreacher to come back.' She basically told us Kreacher plays a role in Seven, in a sense. She hinted. We thought about it for five seconds, and he came back."
What you won't see in the Kreacher scenes, however, is him squirreling away any artifacts such as, say, a mysterious locket no one can open. "Bad David!" Daniel Radcliffe, who plays Harry, teased his director about the locket's absence. "It was kind of tricky to raise that in our story, because it's for so much later," Yates said. “We figured we can probably introduce it later, and that’s the approach we took."

Well I think it's obvious now that he's going to have some role in Book 7, since his role in Book 6 was minimal, and not important enough to be needed at least.
I had seen the quote about how he wanted to cut someone, and Jo made him put him back, and my first thought was Kreacher, since they had cut them from GoF.

YESS!! Finally, a spoiler! HAH! I love them. I cant believe Kreacher is cut out. He is so suspicious in OoTP. Well now we all know that Kreacher will come back in DH because of more actions with him. He is actually very creepy if I do say so myself.

Wow, it's Kreacher! That's really interesting! I'm curious to know what role he plays in Deathly Hallows, now!
I wondered if it was Lupin, seeing as it has been mentioned that he has a major role in DH...but then I thought that they probably wouldn't have thought to cut him in the firt place, as he was pretty important in that film!

So that kind of confirms it, right? The locket was enough
to be mentioned. I suppose that the locket found at
Grimmauld Place really is the Horcrux!

I think this means that RAB (if it was Regulus) may have used Kreacher to get across the lake in HBP to get the horcrux because theres not much else kreacher does that is associated with the Death Eaters except talk to them and tell them stuff

I saw a picture of Kreacher. He looks EXCELLENT. They really do, do the house elves justice.
What could Kreacher do in DH? My mind is already spinning, trying to find situations that he'd be in. Of course, he'll be up to no good and making things worse than they already are. Poor, Kreacher. Maybe he'll come around.

I already read about this on Wikipedia ages ago. Only not the producer/director divulging the info. to MTV. I reckon it's Kreacher holding the sword on the children's cover of the Uk DH.

Well she could just be referring to the fact that Kreacher plays a role in HBP but yeah, she's keeping him around by Harry inheriting him, so I wouldn't doubt if he had an even bigger part in book 7.

Not surprised that it's Kreacher. So many idiots over on CoS Forums ran around claiming that Kreacher and most of Grimmauld Place should be cut! Idiots.
Anyhoo, Kreacher is at least in the film after Rowling helped them out. And you gotta love Dan Radcliffe saying "Bad David" in relation to not showing the locket in the fifth film. Hehe. But I imagine they'll simply have it in the sixth film so at the very end when Harry looks at the locket at Dumbledore's side, and he opens it to find that it's a fake, later on when they hold the little meeting, he'll show it as what they went after for the night, and Ron will say that he saw a locket in Grimmauld Place back when they were living there for the summer and cleaning. There's your link. It's fairly easy to introduce. Don't need to show it in the fifth film, it would just be fun. But oh well.

Fawkes's Lament says:
wicked xx,
I very much doubt that he was there when Voldy killed James and Lily, though it's a good guess. I would agree with you, but Kreacher was said to be holed up in the house of the Blacks for AGES and the Potters were killed in their home. If anything, I'll bet Kreacher knows who R.A.B is. Possibly, Sirius's brother? He was said to be praised strongly by the Black family for being a Death Eater.
