Source: News Tip
Now that Harry Potter news is slowing down until the next movie starts production, we have a new audio interview
with director David Yates that took place during the production of Order of the Phoenix.
Yates discusses the process, feeling frantic at that stage of filming, advantages of joining a franchise, the enjoyment of the experience, working with the cast and contributing to the series.
Thanks to Ed for the tip.

I so so so hope he does a better job with the next movie than with the last one, I was a little disappointed with the last movie. I think he should stay true to the books, and not worry about making it the shortest film to date and other such things.

I was surprised at how much I wasn't that disappointed with OOTP. I had just finished reading the book which is never a good idea to do before seeing the films, but I had to since Deathly Hallows was coming soon. Anyway I actually liked the movie, so I think David Yates did well. I looking forward to hearing about HBP now.

That was a really cool interview. I had forgotten how modest and down to earth Mr. Yates is. I really liked his comments about how he worked with the kids around their adolescence. It really came through on the screen.

Hmmmm. I'm not sure whether he should come back or not, but I hope Alfonso Cuaron does the last two films, as POA was very dark, just as how HBP and DH should be. But if David or Mike comes back, I'm okay with that too, as long as they make it better and longer.

I think Yates did the best job since Columbus. Yes, that means that I never want Curon to direct another 'Potter' movie again!
Yates did a fair job with the plot of 'Phoenix' and kept true to the books. I hope he comes back for at least the next one.

I enjoyed the last movie and was pleased with his direction. The screenplay smashed some things together a bit too much but that had nothing to do with the direction. And from the interviews with the actors, Yates seems to been their favorite so far.

The movie was good, but too short. I hope he makes HBP longer. It doesn't matter if thiers a bit of bulk in there. It keeps things interesting. But other than that, I applaud him!

I'd just like to say that I think that David Yates did a great job with OotP! I was very impressed with this movie and the feelings that it conveyed. It left me with the same sort of feeling that the book did when I completed that and so I really think it was successful for that reason. Job well done!
