Source: News Tip
Now that Harry Potter news is slowing down until the next movie starts production, we have a new audio interview
with director David Yates that took place during the production of Order of the Phoenix.
Yates discusses the process, feeling frantic at that stage of filming, advantages of joining a franchise, the enjoyment of the experience, working with the cast and contributing to the series.
Thanks to Ed for the tip.

It will be interesting to see the differences in the next film. I am still wondering if he was the best choice for the films. I still miss Curan.

I think David Yates did a fantastic job on OotP and I'm very happy that he will be back to direct HBP. He pushed the kids acting abilities to the limit and Dan really liked working with him and how he made him reach deep inside himself to pull out the performance we all saw he was capable of in Phoenix. I think he will do well as director of the 6th film.

It was a lovely interview, and quite interesting.
I'm glad that he's signed-on to direct Half-Blood Prince as OotP was one of my favourite Harry Potter movies so far - I just hope they don't chop too much out of the next one!

I like the way he managed to compact OotP down - but I hope he lets the film linger a little longer on certain details this time. The other one moved so swiftly. Some more attention to detail for the 6th film would be good. I'm sure he'll do an awesome job.

:-( My speakers don't work so I can't hear the interview, is there a transcript somewhere we can read?
I really enjoyed Order Of The Phoenix, I thought he did a fantastic job however it could have been longer.
Is it me or does he look like Gil Grissom from CSI:Vegas?

I'll have to listen to that later, I'm at work... hopefully he does a good job on the next-it would be nice to see more canon. I don't see what's so hard about showing a "head" in the fireplace the way Jo describes, but I won't get started on the many things that baffle me...

Roswelladdict says:
I was very worried before OoTP that Yates had massacred the book and making the longest book into the shortest movie really bugged me. However, after seeing OoTP three times, I have to admit that Yates did the book justice with few exceptions and kept true to the story line of the series. In short, OoTP was brilliant!
As for Yates directing HBP, I hope he builds more of the story arches that Jo included in the book. In OoTP Yates threw Kreacher in with no rhyme or reason and it was glaringly obvious that Kreacher was only there because Jo insisted. I do hope that he will do better with HBP and the "little" details that seem unimportant then but play a part later (ROR comes to mind with the Diadem.)

There is so many different views in the HP fandom about OotP. Overall I think he done a good job considering the size of the book.
From what I've heard of his view on HBP, I think he's going to bring alot of the essence of the book to the screen.
Cauron was good, but why do people miss him so much? He done an okay job of PoA. In my opinion, he's a no for DH.

Hmm, that's right. We haven't really heard from anyone in the last few weeks. THis is such a change from the Harry Potter mania of just a few weeks ago. I enjoyed all those interviews, though. Hehe, escpecially any ones where Emma and Rupert had to discuss the kiss...
Haha, how come no one has asked Dan about his upcoming kiss with Bonnie? It should be weird for them too - they've known each other from the first film as well. Hmm, I've never heard Dan ever mention Bonnie in an interview.
