Update: First pictures of Emma from 'Ballet Shoes'

The first pictures
of Emma Watson from her first non-Harry Potter role have hit the web. Emma will portray Pauline in the BBC's adaptation of Ballet Shoes, set to air around Christmas time in the UK.

UPDATE: Thanks to everyone for letting us know that Emma has updated her official site with pictures taken of her at the Chanel house in Paris trying on outfits for the publicity tour of Order of the Phoenix.

The pictures from the set are kinda nice, although I think that her choosing that role has more to do with the character than with being unable to play anyone other than a schoolgirl. At least that's what I thought the article implied. She is a great actress!

As we've gotten so used to seeing her in Harry Potter, it's a little strange to see her playing a different role. I can't think of her playing any other character besides Hermione...
What more, she looks quite different.
However, I feel that branching out into other movies like this, is a good career move for her. After all, even though Harry Potter gave her her big career break, she can't just do Harry Potter movies, even though she's already set up for the rest of her life now.
Emma has proven to be a level-headed young lady, who is sure of herself and what she wants. I'm sure that she will go far, and be one of the most successful actresses, ever.

All three of the trio have developed into fine actors. Rupert Grint was marvelous in "Driving Lessons." I wish them nothing but the best, but you know... I don't think it would be to difficult to be known as three of the most famous literary characters in history for the rest of their life. Harry Potter will be with them forever. I hope they will alwaays embrace it and be grateful for the opportunities it has allowed. I would hate to see them in 25 years on a "Where are they now?" episode trashing Harry.
