A new New Wizard of the Month
for September has been added on JK Rowling's web site.
Albus Dumbledore
1881 - 1996
Brilliant and often controversial headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Albus Dumbledore is most famous for his 1945 defeat of Grindelwald and his steadfast championing of Harry Potter, the Boy Who Lived. Dumbledore's self-proclaimed proudest achievement, however, was featuring on a Famous Wizards Chocolate Frog Card.

I'm thrilled that Jo chose Dumbledore as the wizard of the month for September. Wow, still working at 115 years old is quite an accomplishment!

I love Dumbledore! He is my favourite character. He was a bit eccentric, but he was a great man. A true champion for all the underdogs, I can even forgive his slight over zealous desire to see the best in everyone including Snape.

That seems appropriate. I'm glad that Dumbledore got a month. Lately, it seems like it's been a lot of wizards that we already know.

Yay!! It's about time Dumbledore was 'wizard of the month'... I was wondering when he'd be on there :) I hope Snape, Lupin, Harry, Hermione and Sirius feature on there sometime too.

Nice to see the honor for him. He was great in the entire series. Sad note is that is shows a date of death.

Even though he really died in the sixth book, his spirit was still in the seventh, and that made me happy.

Interesting to find out that he ws born in 1881. Though frankly speaking, I thought that he would be a little older than 115 years old. Not sure why, though.
But yeah, Dumbledore is a fitting choice this month, considering that it's the month when Hogwarts opens.
Wonder who will be featured next month, and perhaps the month after that...
And I'm also wondering, if Rowling runs out of wizards, would she repeat them?

Great Dumbledore certainly deserves to be WOTM, and september is very a very fitting month indeed. I agree that we'll start seeing some other familiar names from now on, maybe even see how JK imagines Harry, Ron and Hermione!
By the way, is that the Elder Wand he's holding??

Uh-oh...!!!
Does this mean he was born in September?? ...Or is it just because Hogwarts opens on September 1st?...
So he wasn't 150 years old, after all!... -only 115 when he died. I guess Jo must have changed her mind...
Oh, and... this isn't how I'd draw him.... But, anyway, it's good to see him featured as the Wizard of the Month! - I was looking forward to that.

I was wondering when he was going to get chosen as Wizard of the Month!! This makes me so sad, its horrible that he died, but he had to do what he had to do to help Harry.
He died when he was 115 years old, I head that he was 150 years old. That's very long, but don't witches and wizards live longer than muggles do? I swear I heard that somewhere...dang horcrux, shortened his life!!
