The nominees for the 'World Soundtrack Discovery Award' have been announced
and include Nicholas Hooper for the Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix soundtrack for .
Other nominees include Jean Michel Bernard, for The Science of Sleep, Jerome Lemonnier for The Page Turner, Daniel Tarrab and Andres Goldstein for XXY and Inheritance and rounding out the list Ramin Djawadi for Mr. Brooks.
The winner will be announced in Ghent, Belgium on Saturday October 20th at the 7th World Soundtrack ceremony and concert. Good luck, Mr. Hooper.

That's very cool. I do miss John Williams but I do have to admit that I rather enjoyed Nicholas Hoopers score for Order of the Phoenix. It's definitely worth a listen. Good Luck Mr. Hooper!!!

Hooper's score was a pleasan discovery, though I missed Williams. The awar would be well-deserved, assuredly. I find that he has a very inventive style, an interesting potential. Time will tell, anyway, and will certainly confirm his talent. Good luck to him. The other nomines are unknown to me, I saw The Page Turner but remembered only the final movement from Chostakovitch's trio.

I loved Hooper's soundtrack. I liked it better than the movie itself. I recommend that you buy it. I do not know who he is up against but I wish him luck.
I will never understand the fixation on John Williams. I liked the GOF score too.

Yay! I hope that Mr. Hooper wins! I thought that he did a great job with scoring the film, as the mood of the music was a great mirror to the action on screen. Best of luck to him and hope he comes home with a nice reward.
