We previously told you of the public schools that would be participating in J.K. Rowling's 'Open Book Tour,' we can now let you know that Scholastic have posted
their sweepstakes results of fans from the U.S. who will attend an evening with J.K. Rowling at Carnegie Hall on Friday, October 19th at 7 pm.
Canadian publishers, Raincoast, have also published
their list of attendees who meet the author at the Winter Garden Theatre in Toronto on October 23rd at 10 am.
At both events Rowling will read from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, answer questions from her fans and sign complimentary copies of the final book for every fan in attendance.
If you are attending either event please send us your memories and I hope to see you at Carnegie Hall on Friday, October 19th.

I am upset that my sons name is not on the list yet when I received the extra letter they omitted I immediately faxed and mailed it on the 28th so they should have had it by the 1st. Did anyone hear from or speak to someone at Scholastic as to when they plan on releasing the rest of the names? I'd be grateful for any additional information. Thanks.

I'm surprised to see so many winners out of New Jersey. Maybe it's not so weird, but I wouldn't think of New Jersey so much.

Mystique says:
Of course as i read this article, i became extremely bitter and upset. This doesn't apply to me does it... after all, I'm not a US, UK or Canadian resident. I live in the Caribbean, in Trinidad, where there are a lot of Harry potter fans... yet we are, as usual, completely ignored. We don't matter, there are NEVER any competitions for us, never any great harry potter opportunities / experiences that we get to participate in. We get books from Scholastic and Bloombsbury, so why can’t we be eligible for their competitions?
Or, just for once, why can’t they have a world wide competition? Where anyone can enter???
WHY ARE THE FANS LIKE ME TREATED SO TERRIBLY? Most of us are not rich enough to be able to travel to the UK / US and experience harry potter like the people in those regions can.
So are we to be left out because we an’t afford it? Doesn’t sound like what JKR and harry potter is supposed to be about!
