A few months ago we told you that filming
for the Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince movie was to take place at Lacock in the UK. Filming starts
next Wednesday and will continue till Friday night.
Actors Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter) and Ralph Fiennes (Lord Voldemort) are set to film some exterior scenes in the village. Signs placed in Cantax Hill, West Street and Church Street warning drivers of road closures between 5 p.m. and 5 a.m.
According to the article:
There has been a lot of preparation going on and they have been doing things to the outsides of houses on Church Street.
They have been painting the outsides of houses and adding bits to them too.
We are all going to be given dark blinds of some kind to put across our windows at night to help prevent our lights shining out when they are filming.
That way we can get on with our lives as normal and carry on with whatever we would normally do when they shoot scenes.
Many of Lacock's residents attended a meeting during which Warner Bros. pledged to give the village £30,000 compensation, half of which will go to the parish council. Each resident will also be paid £200 for the disruption's "inconvenience."

I don't like that so much of their budget has to go to crabby people for inconvenience. We all like to watch movies, don't we? Well, they have to film somewhere, why want compensation for that? Now, if your house is taken over for a month, that's different. But if they're down the corner for two days, give me a break.

Right now, I would give anything to live in the UK, on that street!!! It wouldn't be an inconvenience for me, I would let Dan close up my street anyway. Its nice they're giving the families on that street money to let them use their houses and stuff.
I think this scene is just a memory, just like a lot of people are saying here. They wouldn't put Voldemort in the movie if he wasn't in the book, that wouldn't be faithful to the books at all. I know Jo wouldn't let them do anything they weren't supposed to with the movie.

Thats really cool having a film made right on your street that wouldn't bother me at all and the compensation would just be a bonus.
I'm excited that filming has started!

The people in Lacock are soooo lucky. To have all Harry Potter crew and stuff there. Dan, out side your house, Voldermort on the streets...
Why not come to my home town and film there instead? It's a nice place. L O L!

Ahh that's soooo cool, I live about 30 minutes from Lacock and I'm off school next week, so could probably get my dad to drive me over there :)
And as for paying the people, I think that's fair, their village is being taken over for a week or so and it will be a right pain. Not everyone is a fan of Harry Potter or movies.

Well the residents are lucky, 200 pounds is a lot of money. The scene has to be one of the memories, cause voldemort and harry didn't meet in book 6!

"...cause voldemort and harry didn't meet in book 6!"
technically no but Harry sees voldemort from teenage years up to young adult years in the pensieve memories all throughout so there may be a need to show the 2 actors together. As an earlier poster said, Ralph Fienes may well play TR Sr as Voldything was said to be the spitting image of him before he fell so deeply into the dark arts.

Well it is nice that they are compensating the people who live in the area. And the blinds are nice too. But I would stay awake and watch the filming of HBP.

Wow, two hundred pounds just for living there! That's actually really nice of Warner Brothers to do for them, quite respectable in my opinion.

Hmmmm.... I do not remember Voldemort being in HBP. Maybe it's for some pensieve/flashback scenes I suppose. And it's great of the WB to give the residents who live there a reasonalble amount of money. Very generous on their part.

Thats really kool that they're willing to compensate the residents for the inconvenience, but if that were me I would tell them "Hey - you can use my house for filming anytime you like!" I would be tempted to watch out of the windows if it were me over there haha

Wow they are very considerate of the residents living there. Although who would want to get on with their regular daily stuff when one of the biggest movies is being filmed there.
