Chris Rankin, Percy Weasley from the Harry Potter movies, is currently visiting New Zealand for this year's Auckland Pulp Expo
.
In an interview with the actor he talks about the movies, his audition and mentions that it is unlikely that Percy will be in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, but Chris hopes for the best for the Deathly Hallows movie.

Too bad that he won't likey be in the 6th film. His character does have an important part. Maybe they will reconsider in view of the last book.

Thats a shame that Chris isn't going to be in Half Blood Prince, it also shows what bits they are not including in the film when they don't cast certain actors. Hope he's in Deathly Hallows.

I don't recall him being in the 6th book much more than a mention or two (I could be wrong). No use making up a bunch of stuff just to put him in the movie...oh wait...they made up a bunch of stuff for OoTP (that room full of people using those cutting quills just IRKS me still)...why not this?

Oh, that's too bad. I would have loved to see him get a face full of mashed Parsnips! He had only one small part in HBP when the Minister made him take him to the Burrow on Christmas.
I really hope he is in the last movie because one of his only scenes in DH is one of the most touching and sad in the whole series.
