Rumors of an eighth Harry Potter book have plagued the fandom for years, even after vehement denials by JK Rowling and her representatives. Well, we can put another to rest.
A few news articles
detailing a professionally crafted web site called Elder's Crossing have popped up recently that seem to hint at a new story named James Potter and the Hall of Elder's Crossing. HPANA can now confirm that it is not connected in any official way to the series.
"Jo has not written an eighth book in the series and is not doing so," Rowling's agent Neil Blair has told HPANA. "So no James Potter book I'm afraid."
UPDATE: Warner Bros. also assures us the site is not connected to them.

The series is over, its sad but everyone knows it. I dont know how i would feel about a new hp book, really. It would be sad and strange to read a book about harry's son, its always been the trio for us. I'm just looking forward to the encyclopedia, really. The series ended in a good way ;)

Yeah, I was pretty sure this wasn't real. But, I did sign up and explore the site just for the heck of it. What's funny though is that I immediately connected the James Potter to Harry's Dad, not his son... and then the "concept art" on the site suggests flying vehicles from the 70's, so that just supported my "assumption." Even if it were a true, I wouldn't consider it an "8th book" as much as a seperate series, or maybe a "prequel" series... I HEART the Marauders and fan-fiction from that era... and she has commented on how surprised she was to discover Sirius' huge fandom. A girl can dream, right? He He.

But, I will continue to enjoy the films and contemplate on the series' ending on my own.
