At the beginning of November JK announced that she had written a set of fairytales (The Tales of Beedle the Bard) for charity and on December 13th auction house Sotheby's will auction off one of the books and are expecting it to sell for £50,000 ($100,000).
According to Sotheby's web site
:
This is the most extensive Harry Potter-related autograph manuscript ever to have been offered at auction. One of the seven specially-made copies, all other copies are to be given by the author to family and those most intimately involved with the phenomenally successful series.
Details of the manuscript:
Autograph manuscript of The Tales of Beedle the Bard translated from the original runes by J.K. Rowling. Individually handwritten and extensively illustrated by the author, c.160 pages written in an Italian hand-made notebook, bound in brown morocco, and embellished with five individually hand-chased hallmarked sterling silver ornaments and mounted moonstones.
The book will be on exhibition on the following days in New York and London:

I would love to see it. I would love to own it. Too bad it's going to be auctioned off. A rich person will of course win it and they probably won't even be a Harry Potter fan and that's the tragedy of it all.

Man, if I had $100,000 to spare I'd be SURE to purchase that precious piece of literature! I presume, or at least hope, that copies of this little book will be made and distributed to the public at large? Or at least a typed copy? I really do want to know what happens in the tales of beadle the bard. Ever since DH, of couse, ever since DH.
