Even though J.K. Rowling was the number one choice by fans for TIME’s 'Person of the Year,' the Harry Potter author was one of the runner-ups
on this year's list. TIME magazine has a nice interview with the author where she talks about the books and answers
10 questions about Harry Potter.
When asked about going back to the series, JK's says:
If, and it's a big if, I ever write an eight book about the [wizarding] world, I doubt that Harry would be the central character. I feel like I've already told his story. But these are big ifs. Let's give it 10 years and see how we feel then.
This week's issue of the magazine hits newsstands on Friday with Russia's President Vladimir Putin as the 'Person of the Year' on the cover.
You can also hear an interview with JK here
where she answers many questions about the series, courtesy of TLC's podcast.

Wuhoo! she made it in Times list again. Congratulations to Jo and her family. She should have been number one [again] but being number three is a good spot. She's definitely deserving of that spot.

YAY!!
Not only is it very cool that she made it in the times list (although she should have won!!!! not that i am bias!!!!) :)
But i'd say its a really good chance she will do more harry books!!! and it would be really cool if it was about Albus but i get this feeling it wont be about him because that is too obvious!!!
But as for the waiting ten years i say she give it 5years and will just miss the magical world too much and want to go back to it sooner!!! (thats my theory and hey i can hope can't i???)
We all just need to make sure we all keep going on about JKR writing more so she realises just how much we want her to!!! (like anyone is going to stop anyway!!! I know i'm not going to!!) :)

Hip hip hip hurray for jk! She deserves that spot, and even higher. It would be kind of strange reading another wizarding book by jk and the title is not harry potter and the blablabla...but hey, as long as we can read something by her.

Not sure that Putin should get the nod. Not for anything positive at least. Nice that JKR is even willing to consider that it is possible she will return one day.

This is actually good news. I was pretty sure there wouldn't be an eighth book and now it sounds like there is a possibility.

I love it when Jo answers more questions! I can't wait for her encyclopedia, I want every...last...drop!
I really hope she does write an 8th book, that would be wonderful! When you think about it, how can anyone just let Harry go? He'll always be around and that makes me happy.

She really deserved to be on this list, and congratulations to her.
Although Putin deserves it too. i don't think TIME necessarily means it as an AWARD to him persay; its more like a very astute observation of how he is slowly making Russia powerful again and inserting himself in world politics.

That sounds great... Jo considering it possible to write an eigth book! So far she has always said, no way, but now she says, maybe. I'm willing to wait ten years but I hope it won't be that long. And it doesn't need to be all about Harry, we've had a lot of him, haven't we.

How the hell did Vadimir Putin win Person of hte year. What did he do that was important this year that didn't cause probems. Lets pick people who made a difference in the world not who made the news more.

~Harry's true love~ says:
Yeah answeres even though I have already heard them. It would be great if she came out with an 8th book, but I do agree that it shouldn't be about Harry. I see Harry as done and old and having a good life. In other words, I don't want Harry going through anymore stress.

Vladimir Putin is Person of the Year? *is shocked* Okay...obviously the criteria for obtaining this title has more to do with who has put themselves "out there" the most rather than which influential person has had the most positive impact on the world. In that case, I don't think the title "Person of the Year" really fits. It makes it seem like whoever gets the title is this amazing person who's had such a positive influence on the world...that doesn't fit Putin at all...oh well...
Number three for JK isn't bad. I definitely would've placed her at number one. If they had ranked based on influential people with good attributes, she definitely could've gotten number one: she's charititable, has the best selling book, and got more kids to read worldwide. She definitely deserved it. :)

RON's all up in heRmiONe says:
#3, that's it? Well, at least she made the top 3. I have to get that magazine, and that quote she said made me very happy. Now we know that the thought of writing an 8th book is in her brain somewhat. I hope she chooses to, if she does, I think she would most likely made the book about Teddy Lupin, because she did say she wrote the epilogue specifically to tell everyone that even though his parents are dead, he still survives and lives a very great life(like harry). But, it would be my DREAM COME TRUE if she made an 8th Harry Potter book, if she gets bored, it doesn't have to be long, maybe 200 or so pages, of when Harry, Hermione, Ron, Ginny and everyone else grow up. I'd love to read a story about their adult lives, about how they work, raise their children, how they are after Voldemort gets defeated.
I love that Jo answered more questions. I would absolutely love to have a 4 hour chat with her, with tons of other harry potter fans, so we can get every single HP question answered. There are still some questions that are in my brain that have never been answered, hopefully they will in the future.
No offense to Vladimir Putin, but what EXACTLY did he do this year to get on the cover? I don't listen to international news(except for the BBC word news channel, sometimes), but whatever he did, it must have been amazing.

RON's all up in heRmiONe, I think he was made Person of the Year because he has done things this year (some would say not very good things) to make himself more politically important. He hasn't done anything good or amazing, just became more politically important than he used to be. Hmm...I kind of expect the number one person to be someone like Oprah, haha. :P
Anyways, congrats to JK. =)
