The nominations for the sixth Visual Effects Society (VES) awards were chosen
this weekend and the Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix movie has been included in four categories.
The movie is nominated in the following categories:
Outstanding Created Environment in a Live Action Motion Picture (The Hall of Prophecy)
Outstanding Models or Miniatures in a Motion Picture (Hogwarts School)
Outstanding Compositing in a Motion Picture (Hall of Prophecy and Comp Shots)
Outstanding Special Effects in a Motion Picture
The awards ceremony till take place on February 10th, 2008 at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood. Thanks to Janice for the news.

To be honest i am not surprised they are up for awards for the hall of prophecies!!! that was amazing work on their part!!! it looked amazing!!!!

That's great, it's is quite amazing how far Technology has come. Now when you look at movies like Harry Potter you actually feel like it is real *which it is* ^_^
I really enjoy looking at things that don't look fake, hehe

This is so awesome :) I can't say I am that shocked however seeing as the visual effects in this are amazing.....simply amazing...I am sure they will win, cause out of most movies this past year, they have some of the best visual effects I have seen :)

I'm glad the Hall of Prophecy scenes are nominted - those effects really are brilliant. None of theose crystal balls existed, it was all greenscreen. Absolutely amazing...

I had written that this year is the best for HP and now everyone can see that why I mentioned it.Every week a new award nomination is highlightened OOOFF! and HP is the winner.
