In an new interview
with Harry Potter producers David Barron and David Heyman both refuse to rule out the possibility of splitting seventh and final movie, The Deathly Hallows, into two films.
Mr. Barron states:
We are still discussing it. The announcement will be made hopefully in the not-too-distant future, with regards to the way seven shapes up.
The only negative of splitting the book into two films is that people could possibly perceive it as being one last chance at cashing in. But the real positive, if we were to do that, would be that we wouldn't have quite the battle we always have of 'How do you compress all that book into just over two hours of screen time?'
While Mr. Heyman says:
A couple of people have expressed interest, people have gotten a few calls and a few emails, but it's still a year away.
We won't start filming 'til February next year. So it hasn't really gone bananas yet. We've got thoughts, and I'm sure something will be announced in the not-too-distant future.
Also, during last nights BAFTA's event, actor Daniel Radcliffe dismissed
rumors that Steven Spielberg will direct the seventh movie:
I have no idea how that rumour started or where it came from. It's not true. How's that for a definitive answer?
It's absolute rubbish that Spielberg is directing the final film. It's not true. There's absolutely no foundation in that at all.
And says this about the currently filming of the film:
We're getting through it alright. I'm really enjoying it. We're about six months in and we've only got four more to go.

Interesting. Actually, I am kind of happy that Spielberg will not be directing DH.
I admire him as a director and he has done great films, but I do not think that he is right for DH.
As for the possibility of two films, I still don't know what to think about that yet. I am divided on this.
But I am looking forward to hearing more on this and where this is going to go in the future.

I think splitting it would be the best idea, they should have though of this for the 5th movie, it is after all the longest book and took the most cutting...well..anyway can't wait till the 6th movie comes out :)

I would really like to see the seventh movie split. They would them be more likely to cover everything that needs to be covered. I agree with some people of where will they split it but it wouldn't be that hard. Anyway if they filmed the both parts of the seventh movie together and then released them within a year of each other or even six months that would be perfect!
