'Half-Blood Prince' headed to IMAX

The IMAX corporation confirmed
on Friday that Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince will be have a simultaneous release date in theaters as well as IMAX theaters on November 21st, 2008.
Richard L. Gelfond, IMAX Co-Chairman and Co-Chief Executive Officer, spoke briefly about the version:
Last summer, Order of the Phoenix was released in IMAX theaters, and broke several box office records with it's success.

We drove and hour and half to the only IMAX in our area showing OotP and it was definately worth it. I can't wait for HBP to be at IMAX as well......

For some reason, IMAX doesn't attract me. I saw an IMAX movie about 7 years ago. It was really cool, but I had to sit in the front row. It was so loud, the picture was so huge, I didn't know what to look at...it's the same thing with a regular movie theater. It's just not my thing.
I'd just rather wait until the DVD comes out, so I can watch it in my room on my TV. I've been doing that every year the HP movies come out.

I was fortunate enough to see the third movie at an Imax!! It was amazing, it really inhances the scenes and allows you to feel like you are there in the action.

I'm SO glad that HBP is going to IMAX...I'm sure they will do a brilliant job with all the effects, so it will be cool to get to see them in 3D..if that is how they do it! I've seen a lot of movies just on the IMAX screen and when the characters are that huge, it is amazing! (VOLDEMORT in LARGE FORMAT!!) Amazing!

That is awesome! I loved the ending of Order of the Phoenix in IMAX 3D! Of course I had to drive two hours to see it that way, but it was worth it and I will definitely be watching Half Blood Prince the same way too!
