(April Fool's!)
It is expected to be announced today that an agreement between Warner Bros., JK Rowling and Akira Toriyama, the creator of Dragon Ball, has been reached for the development of a Harry Potter anime TV series to air on ABC Family in the U.S. starting in the fall of 2012.
Although they have not yet been made public, HPANA has learned that the basic concept drawings have Harry looking a bit like a young Goku (without the tail); Dumbledore looks like a cross between Master Roshi and Bulma's father; and Hagrid looks a bit like Dragon Ball Z's Ox King.
Rowling has apparently requested some minor changes be made to the renderings before they are released. We will, of course, post copies here as soon as they are made available.
(A live-action Dragon Ball movie is slated for 2009.)
UPDATE: Further information and even some initial sketches
are now available online.

Why are they putting the anime on ABC Family? I was thinking it would on Adult Swim of Cartoon Network.
I got the chance to check this site on a better computer and to see this page more carefully and I hopefully this is an April Fools' Joke! I can't believe I took it so seriously - this was the best entertainment I had gotten all day! I don't think I got the chance to see that Firefox news thing - they're making the HP anime sooo creepy!
But making fun of anime isn't funny at all!
An April Fools' Joke? C'mon...HPANA isn't that silly.
If it turns out bad - shoot! But I guess there are some bad reasons to this - people will think Harry Potter is silly and there is a musical planned for Harry Potter too. At least Harry Potter won't end that fast! It's being released in 2012 - I hadn't watched anime since the beginning of seventh grade - It's going to be light-years till I will watch anime again!

Were it not already apparent as a joke the way the story is changed about made me even more certain because Jo refused to sell the rights to her characters so things like this would not happen.
