Last month it was announced that the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows movie would be released in two parts.
We now have confirmation from Warner Bros. on reports this morning from various movie sites
that the first of the two films will hit theatres on November 19, 2010.

How exciting, 2 and a half years to go! Hopefully I won't be too old then to dress up with my HP glasses (never!).
However, I would have still preferred this is one movie, but oh well, I'm still very excited!

It's still nice to get publicity on films yet to be made. I wish there were more about HBP but that trailer is coming out soon (May 16th) with Narnia movie.

I agree with dobbysfan, that is a long time to wait between the end of HBP and the first instalment of DH. But I am sure it will be worth the wait. We heard earlier rumours that the 2nd part would be released in the July following part 1, which would be in July 2011.

Still very disappointed that this is not in a single movie. Really don't see the need for it, unless they are going to add more details about the end and the lives afterword.

I think two movies might be a good idea. There are always a lot of HP fans upset with the amount of content that is cut in the movies, so this should be a way to address that concern. It will defnitely be interesting to see where they cut the story, and how they make them stand alone films. I don't think it will be a disaster though. We do have the Lord of the Rings precedent to show us that one great story can be cut into pieces and still prove to be three great movies as well. I'll welcome the change, and not be too concerned with any extra bucks that I might use up in the meantime. Afterall, if I'm going to be spending my money on a film, Harry Potter is a top choice for me!

I'm guessing that Part 1 will not have an official release date for awhile. Is it customary to make those things known before the movie they're currently working on has even wrapped? I am taking this as rumor for sure, especially since it seems such a long time to wait!

..Should i be jumping around my room hysterically and screaming "YAY! two years to wait!!" or just stare at the computer screen blankly thinking.. "No way.. how can i wait...I can't wait that long!"
But still atleast there are still some news about the film..

This release date, if authentic, is consistent with the ones that Warner Brothers has chosen for its previous November releases. It's just hard to believe that we'll have to wait this long to see the final product: two and a half years.
Darn.

Thats awesome! It's so weird to think of that date now. It seems so far away from now. It's going to come one the same school year that I graduate from high school. Wow. I can't wait to find out on what part the movies split into two.

Alright, now to start the countdown! That means it's only... 937 days, 7 hours, and 37 minutes away! Woohoo!
I was hoping for it to come out on my birthday... but because it's 11 days after, then I can ask for movie theater giftcards so I can go see it a ton of times without going completely broke! So it all works out! :)
