A new report from the set of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince has appeared online in which the author describes meeting Daniel Radcliffe and Tom Felton, as well as visiting the Great Hall, the Burrow and Diagon Alley.
You can read the full report here
, but a few snippets are below:
I saw The Burrow both the inside and outside sets; the outside set had been burnt out in a Death Eater attack. The inside of The Burrow was amazing, the attention to detail. I climbed up the stairs to Ron's room, the bedrooms aren't there but the corridors have doors coming off them with pictures and ornaments. One of the doors had a picture of mushroom on it. Downstairs there were two clocks, one with the whole family's names on and scissors for hands, the other was smaller with a list of jobs to do. There were even postcards to Ron on the bookcase, howlers (or just letters like paper aeroplanes), a wizarding newspaper on a coffee table and children's painting of magical creatures framed on the walls. The guy showing us around said that it was the hardest set to build because nothing was straight or regular sized.
We walked around Diagon Alley. Ollivanders had been destroyed, all the windows were smashed and it was trashed. The shops had complete interiors in case the camera caught a glimpse inside by accident. Quality Quidditch supplies had a Quidditch equipment display, uniforms on dummies and drawers full of clothing. Florean Fortescue's had fake ice cream sundaes lining the walls on shelves. Florish and Blotts had hundreds of books inside the doorway piled up and on shelves. The large books in the windows are actually Watford phone directories covered!
Thanks to the Snitchseeker
for the tip.
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince opens in theatres November 21st, 2008.

It is quite amazing how much work goes into the making of such things. Even the pictures and things on shelves are carefully picked out for that scene!

Wow, it always amazes me how careful and detailed movie sets are! Unfortunate that the details will likely never be seen in the movie. That's why it's nice to get this report, and the pic of Draco is awesome too! Yay, can't wait for the movie!!!

WOW!!
Oh my gosh that is so much detail, I can't believe it. I mean that is truly awesome.
Ha! I loved the description of You-Know-Poo and how when Ron goes: "But I'm your brother," and they go "Ten Galleons."
HA!
That is hilarious.
Oh my gosh I cannot wait for HBP! Poor old Hedwig, but I think that seems reasonable for him to retire because he dies in the first bit in DH so that's alright.
But I am just gobsmacked at the detail that she wrote and I think she must have taken notes to remember a lot of stuff. Because I know I couldn't remember all that detail.
Gosh, I feel swamped by so much information. :)
But I CAN'T WAIT FOR HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF BLOOD PRINCE!!
And they have Cormac!!
Yay! I am pleased by the ammount of stuff they're keeping the same for the movie!
And they had Florean's place!
Happy!
But I hope that they have a deleted scenes this time, because I don't care if they have stuff that doesn't make it into the movie but PLEASE put it on the deleted scenes or whatever.
Or have bloopers or something!
SQUEE!

That was a great set report, it looks like HBP will be filled with lots of good scenes from the book. Just like Luna! I hope we get lots of extras on the DVD, especially the bits that don't make it in to the final film.
