In a new interview
Harry Potter actor Daniel Radcliffe compares Half-Blood Prince to the 1996 film Trainspotting.
Dan comments:
There’s a fair amount of sexual energy and drug parallels. We have a couple of Trainspotting moments.
That’s two films I never thought would be mentioned in the same breath.
Meanwhile director David Yates says:
We’re opening with a big attack. We’ll bring a major London landmark crashing down.
The original interview will appear in Empire
magazine and thanks to the SnitchSeeker
for the news.

"London Bridge is falling down, falling down, falling down..."
That's the first thing that came to my mind when I heard a London landmark is going to come crashing down. I hate it when they change stuff in the books, I really do. Why are they always saying that they're staying true to the books when they keep changing everything? Stupid f-ing hipocrites!
We love the HP books, we want the movies to be exacctly like the books. I honestly would love the movie to be word for word with the books, which would make each movie about 5 hours long. That would truely make the books come alive. But they're cutting stuff out, making the movies under 3 hours. I sometimes do get very disappointed with the movies, but they are still amazing.

Yes! More HBP news! :D *does little dance*
I'm kinda shocked at the amount of people on here who replied saying how the movies should stay the same as the books .. um, as Tikihaha correctly said, a bridge is destroyed in HBP. Probably lots more things destroyed too. And as for the sex, drugs and rock and roll, um hello? They are 16! Those sort of things can't be mentioned in the books as they are for children, but they would have been happening anyway!
I think some people had better get out their HBP book and read it a couple more times. =/

Isn't it stupid when they add something that's not in the books and leave out something important?

Sounds awesome! One of London's bridge's is obviously the landmark Yates was talking about.
As for the drug parallels, is he talking about the felix potion perhaps??

Ok this is really starting to annoy me. Everyone that is saying the London Landmark Crash is not in the book needs to read it again!!!! A Bridge is Destroyed witch I can only assume would be the London Bridge!! Also the 6th book is way more dark and disturbing that the others so I am glad the movie will be this way as well. As for the sexual stuff well they are supposed to be 16 and people this age did have sexual experiences going on! Ok I am done with my rant!! I feel better! Can't wait for the movie!

Chogiiiirl says:
There are several landmarks that could be destroyed at the first of the movie to parallel with the beginning destruction of the first chapter or two of HBP. This is in the book, and even though it wasn't very specific as Jo wrote it, the visualizations of the movie are bound to pick something that people will recognize, like Tower Bridge, Big Ben, Westminster Abbey or some other British landmark.

accio_kim says:
It sounds interesting, I think that this is a fairly dark book, so it will be good to have this darker side. However, I'm unsure about the drug parallels, being metaphoric. Harry gets fairly obsessed with Malfoy, almost like an addiction, checking the map etc. Which is all I can think of.
So I think with this movie said to be more comedic, but also a lot darker, it should be good, because after all, the HP books have their humorous and serious sides.

Note to fans as posted above ...
READ THE FIRST CHAPTER OF "HALF-BLOOD PRINCE"!!
Yes, it may not be an "iconic" London landmark that is destroyed by Death Eaters and giants, but a bridge is destroyed in the very first chapter - "The Other Minister".
Sheesh!! All the moaning of "I wish they'd stick to the book! Why are they opening with destruction?" ... umm, firstly, the destruction IS in the books.
And secondly - it's a MOVIE, which is a visual medium. Big bangs and all the whistles. Excitement. Heart-pumping stuff. You know - ENTERTAINMENT!

Sounds like a lot of re-writes to me. Why can't they just stick to the book. Tearing down a London landmark? There was never anything specific mentioned in the book so I guess they are going for the gold!
