Since it's now July 31st in the UK, we at HPANA would like to wish author J.K. Rowling and her creation Harry Potter a wonderful and happy birthday.
Let’s all raise our butterbeer glasses and give thanks to the woman who has brought us such enjoyment over the years. Happy birthday Jo and to you Harry and thank you from all your fans for the many years of enjoyment you have given us.

Actually making a teenager want to read, and making her head hurt with endless, insane, theories.
Bringing her closer to people who also love the series.
Waiting in a line for hours for the books, complete with Hermione outfit. (:
Even more hours of reading late into the night and well into the early morning.
Tears of grief, anger, and happiness blotting the pages.
Waiting online for HP movie trailers (HBP, anyone?).
Watching the films with complete awe and falling in love with all the actors.
Even more reading of fanfiction, inspired by the amazing novels, whose authors adore you as well.
And of course, knowing that there are many others who feel the same about the world you have created.
For all this, and I'm sure much more, thank you Miss Rowling, and have a great birthday. You deserve it. (:
