Film executives for Harry Potter have reportedly
just wrapped up scouting scenic locations around Scotland to shoot parts of the upcoming Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows two-part film.
Film executives and location and special effects personnel have just completed an updating recce of the four picturesque glens which have featured in all the previous Harry Potter blockbuster...Teams of cinematography experts and production designers visited Glenfinnan, Glen Etive, Glencoe and Glen Nevis, all Lochaber landmarks which have already become established in the series.
They were looking at the autumn and winter changes of the terrain, trees and vegetation in these areas, and have since been in Yorkshire examining tracts of moorland to supplement the Highland locations.

Well if they need a cool backyard and a house from the late 1800's sign me up...there is a fully functional pond. Can you say finding the Sword of Gryffindor scene? :D

The one place that I'm interested in seeing and knowing where they will film is the lake where they get the sword of Gryffendore, and where they see the doe patronus. But then again, those scenes could be filmed entirely inside of a building. I guess it's too early to tell what will happen.
Blessings! Hecate3fold!

The locations that they chose for the first five films were absolutely beautiful. I'm glad they're including those in DH too.

This is exciting news because I love the locations, and because DH is primarily not at Hogwarts, the locations will play a very important part. I think we will have a couple of very scenic movies on our hands.

There's going to be loads of new locations in this one.
I'd imagine the yorkshire locations are for the many camping scenes there must be.

Yay, that's so exciting! I love all the beautiful scenery shown in the previous films, I'm glad to hear they pay so much attention to it. Now what about the Forest of Dean?

Aaaahhh ... Scotland ... as long as they actually shoot most scenes in the REAL outside, rather than all the studio CGI shots that looked so terribly fake in Goblet of Fire. That's what I really loved about Prisoner of Azkaban - the feeling that they really filmed outside, and not inside a studio.

They will probably have to change the location where they film often because Harry, Ron and Hermione are constantly on the move during the 7. book. That`s probably very interesting for the actors, but also stressful.

They are really starting to move. They need to start filming soon, particularly with the trio. If there is any delay they could loose some key actors to age, etc.

I've always liked the locations they've chosen for the movies. My favorite so far has been the scenery in Prisoner of Azkaban. Magnificent natural views. Lovely. I trust they'll find the perfect places.

Good, good, good! I'm highly excited to see the DH movies because we barely see Hogwarts in them. Instead, we see the trio go all over Britain from cities to mountains to farms to forests. Mark my words, it's gonna be great. *screams*

I always love the landscaping in the Potter movies, and I am looking forward to seeing what they will come up with for Deathly Hallows. It should be interesting to see the different sites that the trio camp at.
