Upon appearing on Friday Night with Jonathan Ross earlier today, Rhys Ifans (Elizabeth: The Golden Age, Vanity Fair) announced that he has been cast for a role in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
While he did not say which role he has been cast for, it is believed he will play Xenophilius Lovegood.

Someone I know said that Johny Depp should play the part but of course he can't, not being English.
I want to see what his costume robes will look like. I hope they do them like in the book and make him really stand out in a croud.

Hahahahaha! This is wonderful. Every time I read DH I imagine someone who looks like Willy Wonka (the one from the 70s or 80s), and this guy looks just right! Oh, it's too funny! I would have loved to have seen Johnny Depp as Xeno, but though he is perfect for the part, I think he would probably overshadow the whole movie. Though, he would pull in quite a bit of money for the movie, so considering that, it wouldn't be that far out of WB's character to cast him. But yes, they've cast this actor who I think will be perfect.
