According to Amazon, the soundtrack for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is due to be released on July 7th, 2009.
The soundtrack, composed by Nicholas Hooper, is available
to pre-order for $15.98
Meanwhile, the video game soundtrack is currently available for purchase, right here.

Meh, I didn't like what he did for OotP. I hope Hooper does a better job this time, maybe more along the lines of using a full orchestra (instead of a chamber orchestra setting), more back to the full sounds of Williams and Doyle, more... everything. I found the OotP music to be a bland little attempt at unobtrusive background music- perfect for elevators, not blockbusters.
Let's see if this one manages to be a movie score- I hope so, since one thing I loved best about the first four movies was the soundtrack.

The CD's are something I never got into. If I want to hear the music I just put in one of the movies and listen to it in the background of whatever I'm doing.
I used to buy the James Bond music when the movies first started coming out but I lost interest after Sean Connery stopped being Bond. How many recordings of the OO7 thyme does one need?

Wait, are they equating soundtrack to score? I always thought soundtrack is the actual music, and the score is the sheet music....
