In its first five days in domestic release in the U.S., Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince grossed
$158 million, while having the biggest overseas opening of all time with $237 million worth of tickets sold.
The sixth movie in the series is currently the number one movie in the franchise in opening weekend takings.
UPDATE: To add to the amount of money that the movie has taken in, it also broke a record by taking in $3.6 million from 62 international IMAX theaters.

Wow, that is absolutely amazing. This is what I love to hear, "Harry Potter shatters box office records". I don't like to go to movie theaters to see movies. I usually wait for the DVD to watch the movie. So, I contribute in that compartment of the HP sales. The movie got absolutely great reviews, and apparantly almost everyone loved the movie, because look at how much moolah it made! I wonder how much it'll make over the course of 6 months, or however long it's in the theaters...
