Actor Tom Felton ("Draco Malfoy" in the Harry Potter films) was on hand to help Universal Orlando Resort announce specifics of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter attraction today.
The park unveiled a fly-through video showing the major points of interest, new concept art and more.
Felton had the privilege of confirming what was already expected by most fans: that the attraction will open in the spring of 2010.
Upon entering the park through the "arches of Hogsmeade," guests will be greeted by the Hogwarts Express and station, and free to roam the 22-acre park situated in Universal's Islands of Adventure:
The announcements were made today by Mark Woodbury, president of Universal Creative; Paul Daurio, producer of the attraction; and Alan Gilmore, an art director from the Harry Potter films.
Stay tuned for new pictures, videos and even more coming soon!
UPDATE: The official website
has been updated with art work as well as video
of the webcast which took place earlier today.

As good as this Harry Potter theme park looks I still wonder why they didn't make it in the UK. After all, this is where HP was created and this is where its roots are. My other point being that there are some fans out there that prehaps can't afford to fly to the USA to experience a HP theme park. Does anyone else think I'm right?

I agree they should put one in the UK as well. I would love to go to the theme park when it opens, but it is too expensive and difficult to get there. It sounds amazing though!

Ohh my gosh I am so freaking excited about this!!! I have to go there! The only problem is that Washington is pretty much the farthest state from Florida. It's going to be expensive to get there. But I'm going to get there somehow.

I saw the video as soon as it came out because I'm on the update list from the site right from when it opened.
I wanted to jump on my broom and fly right down. Maybe someday we'll be able to, or at least transport directly there. "It could happen". I believe, I believe, I believe..............
Blessings! Hecate3fold!

Funny how some of the posters wanted the theme park to be in the UK and I have to say, I totally agree! Why don't they do what Disney's done and make one in Paris and then one in Tokyo and everywhere else in the world? Just kidding! Love the whole idea but I doubt I'll be able to get to Florida anytime soon since I'm planning a huge trip to California in a few years and I'm also going to college. And the car and the apartment. So no I won't be able to go soon but I won't die. Just someone please send me a postcard from the owlery with their thoughts!
