Bill Nighly (Rufus Scrimgeour) recently finished filming his role in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and in a new interview
discussed the security measures taken to protect the movie script as well as feeling as he was going to be the only British actor who had not worked on a Potter movie.
They kill you, if you leave your script lying around or leave it on the bus, you're dead.
You have to sign a confidentiality (agreement) and stuff like that which is perfectly understandable. So if I tell you any more, they'll come round my house.
It was very sweet, very nice to work with him, and with Emma and Rupert, and with David Yates as this is my fourth time working with him.
It's great. I thought I was going to be the only British actor of a certain age not to be in Harry Potter and it turned out not to be true so it's kind of cool.
Part one of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows opens next year on November 19th, 2010.

Haha, finding the script on the bus seat.... I wouldn't give it back, either. I'd probably selfishly hoard it and read it five times in a row. :) I suppose it's a good thing it's under so tight privacy. I always look forward to the movies, but wouldn't like to know every single detail before hand.

I can just imagine how tight the security is around the sets. There are probably guards, guarding the guards, with security watching them. Oh, what I'd give to be a fly on the wall.
Somehow I can't quite see how this guy is going to be a shaggy maned, lion looking Scrimgeour. They will have to do some fancy makeup if they are going to be true to the story. Only time will tell what he will really look like for the movie.
Blessings! Hecate3fold!

Funny how these great British actors all want to be (or, are quite happy to be) in Harry Potter. One would think that they regard HP as some story for children or, you know, something below them. Or it may be just the money? I hope it's not just the money...

That was a great interview, it made me laugh! I'm glad he finally got his chance to be part of a Harry Potter film. I can't wait to see this film. It's going to be both exciting and sad at the same time because we are getting ever so closer to the end.

I love the comment about them killing you if you loose your script...I imagine security has to be tight about the movies and such...look at how we hang here just waiting for new news!

While I am glad that Scrimgour will be in DH film I can’t imagine that there will be a lot of him in the movie. Since all we see is him telling the trio about Dumbledore's will. Unless they show his assassination.

I really don't see the fuss about security for a HP movie, I mean we all know what's gonna happen haha.
Anyway, Bill Nighy is awesome.

Oh yes. That script would become one of the most read things in America if it was left on a bus seat hahaha.

I like the part where he says that "they'll kill you." I smiled at it.

Sorry for double post, but I didn't know that this guy was Davy Jones in Pirates of the Caribbean 2 and 3 ( well, I think that I did, but I just forgot). Well, if he made my spine shiver in those films, surely he did a fantastic job in HBP.

I had been begging the powers that be that Bill Nighy have a part in a Harry Potter movie ever since Richard Harris died and WB was looking for a replacement. I've loved him since 1998's "Still Crazy" -- anyone who's seen it can see he'd fit right in with an eccentric and magical cast of characters like Harry Potter's.
