TLC managing editor Melissa spoke to Sidekicksociety.com about the auction effort to win the 93-word card. Quotage:

SKS: As in life, there are not always clear victories - but what do you hope the fans and your site will gain from this experience?

LC: I think the fans and our readers (whose ages range from toddler to grandmother) will learn that one dollar really does make a difference, and that when people band together to do something they believe in, the results are often staggering. This effort was a very swift and effective example of how every little bit helps. Our fans can look at our total and say: "Wow. I did that."
