The official Harry Potter movie site has posted a short interview with Daniel Radcliffe
, the main star of the film series. He talks about being "obsessed" with film and music, being good friends with Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, Tom Felton and Matthew Lewis, and filming under the Mexican director Alfonso Cuarón:
Q: How does working with the new director (Alfonso Cuarón) compare with your experience with Chris Columbus?
A: First of all, I consider myself very lucky to have worked with two great directors on these films. Chris is without doubt, the most energetic director I have ever met. He was amazing in keeping us motivated and in encouraging us every step of the way. Alfonso on the other hand directs in a more intense way. The scenes in this film are some of the most passionate and emotional I have ever worked on and Alfonso's style has been very helpful to me.
Q: Are you going to work in anymore Harry Potter films?
A: At the moment I am working on Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and I will certainly make Goblet of Fire. After that? Who knows?

Yep - the link is not working on my computer either.
I like Daniel's comments - it just goes to show that the films are growing up, as Harry grows up. I wish there were a bit more behind the scenes interviews and photos as well. Part of me finds it very strange that he is friends with Tom!

Good to hear that he's planning on coming back for GoF, although we'd sort of had hints of this for a while...

Rococoed says:
It's reassuring to know he is returning for GoF, and I hope he stays on board for all seven movies.
Cuaron said in a long-ago-interview that the books were getting more emotional, so I assumed this film would be more emotional. I may be alone in this view, but I hope PoA is more like a drama than the first two, which were directed like action movies. I will be crying in the theater whenever Sirius is mentioned, of course. The wounds will never heal, unless he comes back.
Is it just me, or do I have the feeling Dan will be a better actor this time around?

At last a few words of Dan! And I liked everything I read. So there's great hope PoA will be the best movie of all (despite the hair and robes and all).
So it's emotional and passionate, eh? I hope so!!! Because the Shrieking Shack scene has to be very very passionate! Oh, why does it still has to be so long until June?
Yes, Hairy Potty, I think that Dan will show us very good acting in Poa, too. He grows up and learns a lot in the meantime. For our benefit and pleasure!!!
And wasn't he polite again in this interview? What a nice kid!!!

I am looking forward to PoA. It seems that things are beginning to wrap up - more pictures, more interviews, more information. Very gald to see in print Daniel's own words saying he will be in GoF.
With so much intensity and attention to detail during the filming, I believe this HP film will be the best so far!
June 4th is so far away!

I had no problem with the link, but if you do, go the the "Official Harry Potter/Warner Brothers" Website and click on the Daily Prophet.
It's a neat interview, you can read how much Dan has grown up since the first film.

It seems you need to have access to the American version of the official site to get the interview. People at the commentary at Leaky couldn't get there either if they were British residents. I don't know, but don't worry, I'm sure transcripts will come up all over the net soon.
I loved what he said about Cuarón's intensity and how that has helped him as an actor. I have such high hopes for this film already because of Cuarón's artistic ability, and this didn't make it any less. I thought Dan was a pretty good actor already, and if he improves even more now, whitch I'm sure he will (and Cuarón said to Newsweek all the kids have improved) it's going to be awesome.

Well this made me very happy!! :) I love hear the actors views on the directing and how the movie is moving along...but...
Lord Voldemorts 3rd cous wow have some pent up anger in there? Why dont we see the movie before we make hostile remarks towards the director and most of the movie...personally I think its going to be the best of all! I CANT WAIT!!!

Interesting interview - if short. Daniel seems to be such a mature young man. But then all of the cast does in varying degrees.
What's this posting by Lord Voldemorts 3rd cous about characters falling love. I don't remember anyone connected with the film saying that. Did I miss something?

Wow what a tone we have gotten to lately.....let's all wait and see before we make judgement about Cuaron, and I think Dan has done a great job so far in portraying what I picture as Harry, if he has matured (as I'm sure they all have) then even better, but let's not yell or challenge each other here, there are other places for that.....fang

Yeah- it didn't link for me, either, but I found it anyways... Sounds like there's going to be a pretty noticable change in the different director. For better or worse, we'll just have to see... I'm glad Dan's making GoF- they BETTER keep the same people to make OOTP movie!

I think it's wrong of some people to criticize Cuaron w/o even seeing the movie. Gosh, how can some people just think that PoA will be awful? I, on the other hand, think that PoA will be way better than the 1st 2. I'm not criticizing Columbus or anything, but I think that since PoA is a lot more serious and dark and emotion than the last 2 movies, Cauron is the right guy to direct it. Someone said that the last 2 were more like action movies, and I totally agree. I think that Cuaron will be able to truly explore the darker storyline of PoA.

Danial appears to be developing as an actor. I think the exposure will be good for him, since he has indicated that he wants to move into roles behind the camera. This may be important, since he is likely to be very strongly type-cast.

I am glad he mentioned the emotional and passionate side of his character in this movie. How Harry feels in this book was an extreme emotional roller coaster. I can't wait to see how Daniel handles this.

I love Daniel as Harry, he does a very good job as him. But I just have one pet peeve about him. The green eyes. Harry is supose to have green eyes and Daniel doesn't. It's an easy enough thing to do. Just give him contacts. Oh well. Still looking forward to having him in future HP films. He's great.

Also, the link to the interview has been fixed. Apparently they didn't want people linking directly to it, but we have "magical" ways around that. ;)

I think the third movie will be better than the first two. Why? like Dan said "The scenes in this film are some of the most passionate and emotional" its better that it real than corny with no depth.
