Want to meet a snake? An iguana or a pigmy hedgehog? Or how about Harry's owl Hedwig? Thanks to Bentley Library's summer holiday programme, several youngsters got a chance to do just thatopens in new window.

Jill Reynolds from Smestow Wildlife Centre in Wombourne dropped in to Bentley Library in Queen Elizabeth Avenue, for some animal magic, yesterday.

She introduced spellbound youngsters to a snake, an iguana, a pigmy hedgehog and Oak the snowy owl, who played Hedwig in the hit film Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.

Library services manager Julie Graystone said: "About 50 children came to the library and they all really enjoyed meeting the animals. The feedback has been really positive."
