Roger Rapoport of Michigan-based RDR Books said he expects attorneys will file an appeal to preserve their right to continue battling a lawsuit from JK Rowling and Warner Bros. preventing them from publishing an unofficial "Harry Potter" lexicon, according to the Detroit Free Press. UPDATE: HP Prognosticators has posted an exclusive interview with Steve Vander Ark on their podcast.

Anxious "Harry Potter" fans hoping to catch a glimpse of their favorite stars began arriving at Grauman's Chinese Theater in Hollywood tonight, 18 hours before the U.S. premiere of "Order of the Phoenix" here. HPANA has learned that Warner Bros. has received a city permit to close down Hollywood Boulevard outside the theater Sunday.

A psychology professor in Pennsylvania needs volunteer "Harry Potter" fans to answer a series of short surveys, spread out over the release of "Deathly Hallows" to gauge the end of the series' impact. One goal of the surveys is to study the role addiction plays in "Potter" fans' involvement with the books. Part one is available now.

MySpace's "Black Curtain Screenings" is now offering June 28 screenings across the country of "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix." You have to add the Black Curtain and Harry Potter profiles to your top friends and then print it out. Tickets are free, on a first-come first-serve basis.

Warner Bros. and Universal Orlando Resort have officially confirmed (finally!) they will be opening an entire "theme park in a park" based on the world of JK Rowling's Harry Potter" in 2010, just before the final film is released. The attraction will include thrill rides, specialized foods, experience-based 'textural' features and more. UPDATE: Video online.

Winnipeg, Canada-based folk band Wyrd Sisters has been ordered to pay Warner Bros. $140,000 in legal costs stemming from the group's 2005 lawsuit aimed at preventing the release of "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" because the movie contained a pretend band of similar name. Additionally, HPANA has learned new details about the story. UPDATE: The Wyrd Sisters are to appeal the above-mentioned ruling and will continue on with their 40-million dollar lawsuit against Warner Brothers.

Trend-tracking site BlogPulse has announced its list of the top blogs and various categories in the "blogosphere" of 2005. Harry Potter was #1 on their list of most-mentioned "people" and, along with Donnie Darko at #17, was the only other winner in the top 20 who wasn't a real person. The act of blogging exploded this year as services made it easier for anyone to write just about anything and post it online with a click.

The American Library Association, through its Association for Library Service to Children division, released a recommended reading list today for "Harry Potter" fans waiting impatiently for the July 16 release of the sixth JK Rowling novel in the series. The reading list was created by children's librarians using the following criteria: "books that have similar story elements and replicate accessibility, tone and flavor; and books that are similar in theme but may be more complex."
